Grutas Park – Welcome back to USSR – just a few kilometres from Druskininkai you can visit a unique museum, which has a collection of Soviet era sculptures and monuments. The museum was founded by a local millionaire who made of fortune from mushroom and berry business. The exposition has attracted a lot of criticism, but nevertheless is extremely popular among Lithuanians and foreign visitors. You will see what used to stand in Lithuanian towns, squares and streets: Lenin, Stalin and other communist figures, busts and paintings. Also you will find various communist propaganda posters and other kind of soviet art. The soviet atmosphere will be strengthen and enhanced by barbed wire that encloses the area, soviet music and shouted propaganda slogans. You will be able to stop at soviet souvenirs shop or stop and have soviet style cuisine meals and drinks. This is a unique opportunity to go back to Soviet times.
