Jurmala – the largest Latvian summer and health resort, only 25 km highway drive from Riga. The town is located on the coast of the Gulf of Riga and occupies a 32 km length coast line. Because of the surrounding nature and natural resources Jurmala classifies in two categories of health resorts – balneological and of the marine climate. This is a perfect place to fill your lungs with ionized sea and pine resin aroma enriched air. In the town you will also be able to enjoy wooden architecture, which includes modern classicism, Art Nouveau and National Romanticism styles. Facades of buildings are often decorated with carved wood, providing a unique look. Another good place to spend your time is Joma pedestrian avenue, where you will find plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops. In Jurmala is also located a modern water amusement park which can be another good place to relax, to rest or just enjoy different saunas, pools and water attractions.
