Tartu – the second largest city in Estonia, located on Emajogi river bank, considered to be educational and cultural centre of the country. The main reason for that is the Tartu University which was built in 1638 by the initiative of Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus. Till today this university hold a reputation of the most prestigious educational school in the country. During the tour we will visit the main university building built in classical style, the Lutheran St. John’s Church, 18th century City Hall, botanical garden and main street with many cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. Also, we will stop at the symbol of Tartu – fountain-statue called the “Kiss of Students”.
